Welcome to the
Florida Chapter of The Ohio Genealogical Society Website.
We're glad you’ve come to see what we’re all about.
Our Chapter was formed in 1984 to create and build interest among Florida residents in their Ohio family ancestry. As an organization we resolve:
-
To encourage active membership in this Chapter and to support the objectives of and membership in The Ohio Genealogical Society.
-
To support the preservation, collection and publication of historical records pertaining to Ohio and to make them available for use in genealogical research.
To achieve these purposes, OGSFL sponsors Quest, our chapter newsletter, published six times per year. Each February we hold a day-long conference, featuring a world class genealogical speaker. As Florida is a large state, this conference is our only regular membership meeting.
OGSFL unites our membership during the balance of the year through this website. With its debut in the Fall of 2012, we hope that information and opportunities available here will aid all who seek answers in their Ohio research pursuits.
Our pages develop continually as Ohio genealogists add new information. Please visit often and consider adding your family names and information.Submit stories of your ancestors to the webmaster or newsletter editor to be posted on the website and/or published in the Quest newsletter. See the Contact page for appropriated contact information.
If you find these web pages to be informative, please choose to become a member of OGSFL. Your participation is important to further the work of the Society. If you would like to join the Florida Chapter of The Ohio Genealogical Society, click About for a PDF membership application.

Your access to this website will disappear and your Quest newsletter will not arrive if dues are not paid in a timely manner. Click the About page for dues prices and Treasurer's address. All OGSFL members and Ohio family historians thank you for supporting the objectives of this organization.
